2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
| Data Type | When Collected | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | When you enter your email on our site | Deliver the product and send flight-preparation emails |
| Flight date | When you optionally enter your flight date | Time your preparation emails to your flight |
| Flight time | When you optionally enter your flight time | Time your preparation emails to your flight |
| Payment information | At checkout via Stripe | Process your purchase (we never see or store your full card number) |
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies and does not track individual users. It collects aggregate data such as page views, referrers, and browser type.
- Session storage: We store your flight date and time in your browser's
sessionStorage(not cookies) so you can navigate the site without re-entering it. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Deliver your purchase: Send you the PDF guide and your purchase receipt.
- Send flight-timed emails: If you provide your flight date, we send a series of preparation emails timed to help you get ready for your flight (e.g., "7 days before your flight," "the morning of your flight").
- Customer support: Respond to your questions, refund requests, or data requests.
- Improve our product: Understand how people use our site so we can make it better (using aggregate, non-identifying analytics only).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our business. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data:
Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you purchase the guide, your payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe collects the information necessary to process your payment, including your card number, billing address, and email.
Cloudflare (Hosting and CDN)
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, and security services. Cloudflare may process technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver our site to you and protect against threats.
Resend (Email Delivery)
We use Resend to send you transactional emails (purchase confirmations) and flight-preparation drip emails. Resend processes your email address and the content of emails we send to you.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We take a minimal approach to cookies and tracking:
- We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
- We do not use Google Analytics.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free and does not track individual visitors. It provides only aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics.
- sessionStorage: We use your browser's sessionStorage (not a cookie) to temporarily store your flight date and time so you don't have to re-enter it while browsing. This data never leaves your device and is automatically deleted when you close the tab.
- Cloudflare security cookies: Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie (
__cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots and protect our site. This is not used for tracking or advertising. - Stripe: When you visit our checkout page, Stripe may set cookies necessary to process your payment and prevent fraud.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Email address | Until you request deletion or unsubscribe. We may retain a hashed record for up to 3 years to honor refund guarantees and prevent fraud. |
| Flight date/time | Deleted from our systems 30 days after your flight date, or upon request. |
| Payment records | Retained by Stripe per their data retention policy. We retain transaction records (amount, date, and last four digits of your card) for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance. |
| Analytics data | Cloudflare Web Analytics retains aggregate data per their policy. No individual-level data is stored by us. |
